Shawn Ballard - Owner

Born and raised in Brookfield, CT - Shawn developed a passion for the outdoors and being creative through building at a young age. Jumping into the building industry at 20 years old, Shawn started his own construction business and successfully operated it for the next 15 years. During that time, he was offered a dream opportunity to work with a local timber frame company. As a consultant for Harvest Moon Timber Frames, he traveled the United States to lead and advise local building crews through the initial framing stage of dozens of timber frame structures. Projects including barns up to 40,000 sq. feet in size with beautiful details - such as sky high cupollas. Also, the restoration and renovations of many historic New England homes. In 2011, a family wedding brought Shawn to Rehoboth Beach, DE for the first time. A lost (& found!) dog would lead him to meet his future wife, Amy, and many more trips to Delaware. After relocating in 2012, Shawn joined Schell Brothers as a Special Projects Manager. One of his most memorable projects was building the state-of-the-art Aquatic Center for Sussex Academy of Arts and Sciences in Georgetown. Always an entreprenuerial spirit, Shawn left his project manager position to return to business ownership as a general contractor. With his own customers, Shawn recognized the need for a convenient one-stop shopping experience to select products for all aspects of new home build or renovation projects. That was the beginning of a new interior design business, Prestige Home Design & Cabinetry. A full service design center with a focus on offering quality, unique products and first-class customer service.

Amy Ballard - Marketing

A Delaware native, Amy grew up in Hockessin with her parents and younger brother. Many of her favorite childhood memories are from visiting her grandparents in Ocean View and spending summer days on Bethany Beach. After graduating from the University of Delaware with a Bachleor of Science in Business Administration, Amy moved to Rehoboth to live the beach life she has always enjoyed. A position with Carl M. Freeman Communities was an exciting start to her marketing career. As part of the team that launched the Bayside community in Fenwick Island, Amy got the opportunity to work on up-scale events like the grand opening of the community’s Jack Nicklaus signature golf course. With an inaugural round of golf played by Jack, himself! A couple years later, a Marketing Manager position with Dynamic Physical Therapy was a chance to learn about a new industry and gain manangement experience. It was around this time that Amy met Shawn and they began a long-distance relationship while both pursuing their dream career opportunities. Now married and both living in Delaware, Amy is joining Shawn in his passion project and using her talents in Sales & Marketing to spread the word about Prestige Home Design & Cabinetry.
